Ever since I can remember, I've been fascinated by the look of black patent leather Mary Jane shoes, especially when worn with white ankle socks. I was always very jealous of all my little girl friends who wore them to school every day, along with their cute little skirts and dresses, while I had to plain old brown oxfords and pants.
It wasn't until I turned sixteen and got my own job and car, however,
that I was actually able to buy my own pair of black patent
leather Mary Janes. I can remember walking past the local
Thom McAnn shoe store every day on my way to and from junior high
school. I would stop to look at the display they always
had, in the front of the window, of black patent leather Mary
Janes. I would think about the day when I would have enough
money and nerve to go in and buy a pair for myself!
The day came just a few weeks after my sixteenth birthday.
I got up enough nerve to go to a Thom McAnn shoe store in the
next town (so I wouldn't been seen) and bought my first pair of
black patent leather Mary Janes. I told the clerk I was
acting in a play and needed them for a part of the costume.
I don't think he believed me, but I didn't care, I had my first
pair of Mary Janes! I wore them, in my room, almost every
night until I just about wore them out. I eventually
put my appreciation for Mary Janes, off into the back of my mind.
I was busy with college, dating and working. Then, one day
while I was out shopping, I saw a pair of black patent leather
Mary Jane shoes, just like my first pair, on display in a store
window. They brought back all the old familiar memories,
I had forgotten about, I knew I had to go in and buy them!
They only had one pair large enough to fit me (size 11),
so I bought them!
Of course that pair of Mary Jane shoes was all that I needed to
become hooked again. In the past few years or so, since that fateful
day, I have amassed a collection of over two hundred pairs of
shoes, most of them Mary Janes and saddle shoes.
Recently I've become interested in skirts and now I have a collection of skirts that's threatening to take over my shoe collection! I primarily like short (mini) skirts because they look the best on me, but I also have a few long ones.
I'm not gay and I don't like to try and pass as a female, I'm
very satisfied to be a male and recognized as one.
Now, whenever I travel or have a few spare hours, I put on a skirt
and my Mary Janes, and go out shopping. I've finally reached
the time in my life when I really don't care what others think
about how I look, I dress to please myself.
